  If we knew the single biggest cause then we’d probably find it a lot easier to deal with it and encourage more women to become engineers. I think there are lots of different factors. Mainly it’s down to whether they hear about it before they start making decisions about their career or further education and whether it’s described to them in a way that makes it sound like something they would enjoy. Often when we’re telling people about engineering we talk about it being great for people to want to know how a car works etc which may work really well for attracting boys more than girls but there’s so much more to engineering than that. What do you think lu?
